While walking along the granite rocks of Fine Creek in the heart of central Virginia, my husband Tim and I knew we’d found something special.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved to create joy. To cook the kinds of meals that bring people together. To craft events that feel unique and yet timeless. To conjure moods and environments that give love a place to deepen. That vision blossomed as Tim and I toured the gristmill ruins and the old miller’s cottage, and I knew I’d found my place to create magic.
In July of 2004, we opened the Mill at Fine Creek. It’s not only the culmination of our hopes and dreams, but a place built for yours, too. Our family-owned and operated business is made up of people who, like me, love the wedding planning process. From the day you say “yes” to the day you say “I do,” we work with you to make your dream a reality.

The Mill at Fine Creek is purpose-built for this magic, a quiet space made to celebrate love. Whether you envision an intimate wedding or a grand weekend affair, our historic 10 acres of grounds and facilities are the ideal getaway to make magic moments with the people you hold dear.
As a family of professionals, we at The Mill are motivated by excellence and a passion for doing what we love. Our many years of experience have prepared us to anticipate your needs and make sure you’re taken care of on your day.
Getting Ready
Relax as you get ready to sparkle in both our salon-inspired suite (equipped with salon stations, full-length mirrors and a bathroom), and the Miller’s Cottage (furnished with all the comforts of home, like a full kitchen, couches, a TV, a bedroom, and 1 ½ baths).
An appointed member of our staff will make sure you have everything you need as you get ready throughout the day.
Menu
Working one-on-one with you to plan a menu unique to your wishes, we welcome traditional family recipes, new dishes, and can accommodate any dietary need. Always “from scratch” and using only the freshest ingredients, our chefs will create a meal that you and guests will never forget.
Reception
Surrounded by dense forest and the waters of Fine Creek, our reception venue is designed to embrace the outdoors. From a wraparound deck to a dance floor equipped with a professional audio system, our all-inclusive venue provides everything you need to entertain up to 225 of your guests for the celebration of your dreams.
Guest Cottages
Perfect for both overnight wedding guests and out-of-town visitors, our artisan-crafted cottages offer a delightful escape.
